Abstract
In this study, the effect of viscosity of pulp on the classification properties of wet cyclone was investigated. Galenafrom Toyoha mine, Hokkaido district, Japan, was used as a feed of wet cyclone and commercial kaolin sample was used in order to vary the viscosity of pulp. The results of classification tests were estimated by the Tromp partition curve. From the results obtained, the classification point increased with the increase of pulpdensity of kaolin. With the lowering of temperature, the viscosity of pulp increased considerably to increase the classification point.
From the results of this research work, it was found that the viscosity of pulp influenced differently on the classification properties of wet cyclone by the coexistence of such a fine particle as kaolin.
