On Global Estimates of Carbon Dioxide and Methane Fluxes Based on Observational Data Acquired by the Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite “IBUKI” (GOSAT)

Abstract

The Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite (GOSAT) was launched on January 2009 to measure spatiotemporal variability in column carbon dioxide (CO₂) and methane (CH₄) concentrations over the globe. This paper aims to give an overview of GOSAT observations and applications of the data to inverse modeling of distributions of the atmospheric tracer gases.
