The Patient was a 7-year-old female admitted for treatment of an ovarian tumor. Serum estradiol was elevated to 87.4 pg/ml. Laparotomy revealed a fist-sized solid tumor of the left ovary and a small amount of straw-colored clear ascitic fluid. Histologically the resected mass was typical juvenile granulosa cell tumor. Two neoplastic cell types were seen in the histologic and cytologic specimens : granulosa-cell and thecacell. Both were much more atypical than those of adult granulosa cell tumor. Although the number of mitoses was rather high, there have been no signs of recurrence for 3 1 / 2 years since the operation and chemotherapy.
