Abstract
In order to study the design of wind load resistance for plastic greenhouse, the greenhouse damages by typhoon at Kume-island, Okinawa and Motono, Chiba was investigated. The result shows many collapse greenhouse frame and isolated footing at flat area. And the deformation and the buckling of the pitched roof was seen at the slope area. The difference of the greenhouse arrangement clearly made the difference of the details of collapse greenhouses.
Then, we examined the process of the framework deformation using the method of the numerical analysis. From this result, we suggested the fundamental rules for greenhouse arrangement design and the measurement to counter the greenhouse destruction.
