Abstract
The Christian theology established its own Wissenschaftlichkeit in the context of the philosophical theology of the ancient Greek thought. In spite of inner tensions or oppositions, there has been one history of thought in the western world containing both theology and philosophy. In this paper, we try to argue about the relationship between theology and philosophy concretely from the point of view of the presonal God. Among the classical german philosophies in the 19th century, we can see the criticisms of the personal God from a standpoint of the rational religion of the Enlightenment and also the high evaluation of the personality of God such as in Schelling. The critical reviewing of the personal God in the traditional theism is pursued in a more thorough way in the various trends of the Christian thoughts today and through them, a new form of christianity might emerge.
