Abstract

We encountered a case of a dissecting posterior cerebral artery aneurysm that changed shape during the course of the disease. A 53-year-old man was clinically diagnosed with an unruptured dissecting posterior cerebral artery aneurysm in the right posterior cerebral artery, which was treated with stenting using low-profile visualized intraluminal support device (LVIS) Jr. During the post-treatment follow-up, the aneurysm changed shape at a new site. The combination of coil embolization and LVIS Jr. resulted in favorable outcomes. There are no other reports on the frequent longterm changes in dissecting posterior cerebral artery aneurysms. Long-term follow-up is desirable; however, no clear criteria have been established. The treatment of dissecting posterior cerebral artery aneurysms should be investigated further in future studies.
