Survey on Impressions Toward AI:

For the Purpose of Educating Students in Mathematics, Data Science, and AI

Abstract

The authors have been appointed to teach a Mathematics, Data Science, and AI course for all students of the university starting in the next academic year. In order to prepare for it, three surveys were conducted to grasp the current situation of the students. The first was a survey on studentsʼ understanding of the terms “mathematics”, “data science”, and “AI”. This was followed by a survey on their impressions toward AI, and lastly a survey on the specific reasons students have for uneasiness about AI.
