Abstract

A comparative study of the bacterial flora of the waters of the Yodo and Neya rivers was undertaken. A total of 96 aerobic, heterotrophic bacterial strains isolated from the Yodo and Neya rivers was examined for their biochemical, cultural, morphological, nutritional, and physiological characteristics. Flavobacterium was found to be commom in both rivers, whereas Pseudomonas and Moraxella predominated in the Yodo river.
