In this study, the effects of the addition of several fillers on the bending strength and tribological properties of themoplastic polyimide (PI) were evaluated. The filles used were polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), graphite (Gra) and potassium titanate whisker (PTW). The specimens were molded by compression molding at 430°C and 30MPa.
The frictional coefficient and wear rate of PI composites are smaller than those of unfilled PI. The limiting pv values of PI composites are greater than that of unfilled PI.
