Abstract

We aim to construct a model that presents various support methods to facilitate work-life balance and well-being by enhancing work efficiency, quality of life (QOL), and quality of work life (QWL) in the context of family life (including housework and childcare). This is done while harnessing technologies such as IoT, big data, robotics, and VR. As part of this endeavor, this study proposes a burden assessment model from a cost management perspective. We reviewed previous studies on the Work-Life Balance Sheet (WLBS), a model that quantitatively determines the economic valuation equivalent to the wage per hour of unpaid work in Japan and the current state of WLB. The currency evaluation of unpaid work is derived by multiplying the hours of unpaid work per worker by the wage per hour. Our new model calculates unpaid work hours per worker using the WLBS, which details the deficient hours separately. The wages per hour are then determined and multiplied using the "Replacement Cost Method, Generalist Approach."
