Development of Validation Framework of CO₂ Emission Estimation using Traffic Simulation

Abstract

    When we estimate CO₂ emission using traffic simulation models and CO₂ emission models, it is important to make an international agreement on common procedure for model validation because each evaluator likely to use their own models, generally. Therefore, this project proposes a framework for validation of traffic simulation models and CO₂ emission models, and tries to build a consensus through international workshops. It also conducts a field observation in order to obtain actual traffic state data which can be used for validation, and a validation trial to confirm the feasibility of the proposed validation framework.
