Abstract
The present study clarified the contribution of two controlling factors for the low temperature oxidation of CO on supported Pd catalysts. One is the reducibility of PdO to Pd, and another is the contribution of lattice oxygen of supports having sufficient oxygen storage capacity. Although the competitive adsorption of CO and O2 on Pd surface suppress CO oxidation on Pd/Al2O3 at lower temperatures, the oxygen activation on the support improves catalytic cycles on Pd/CeO2 and
Pd/TiO2.
