Abstract
The Ni/Mg/Al catalysts were prepared from the calcination and reduction of hydrotalcite-like compounds. The Ni/Mg/Al catalysts have a nanocomposite structure of Ni metal particles and Mg(Ni, Al)O particles. The Ni/Mg/Al catalysts showed high catalytic performance in the steam reforming of biomass-derived tar. In the present study, we also prepared Ni-Cu/Mg/Al catalysts from the calcination and reduction of hydrotalcite-like compounds. The performance of the Ni-Cu/Mg/Al catalysts was investigated in terms of catalytic activity, suppression of coke deposition in the steam reforming of biomass-derived tar.
