Phenoxy oxo complexes of tungsten having 1,3-diketone as a ligand; Molecular structures and metathesis reactivities

Abstract

We have been investigated the reaction of mer-W(=O)Cl₃(1,3-diketone) (1) with phenol derivatives.  Complex 1 reacted with several phenol derivatives including sterically bulky 2,6-diphenylphenol to afford the corresponding phenoxytungsten (VI) complexes in almost quantitative yields.  X-ray crystallographic analysis of these complexes and their metathesis reactivity will be presented.
