Abstract
The surface tension, dispersion- and polar-components of Nylon- 6 film dyed with acid, premetallized, chrome, direct and disperse dyes containing azoic groups have been determined by the Wu's equation.
The dyeing with milling, premetallized and chrome dyes with the high substantivity for nylon films decreased the polar component of the surface tension of a Nylon-6 film. By contrast, the dyeing with the levelling dye unchanged or rather increased the surface tension. Thus, it was concluded that the polar component decreased with increasing the substantivity while the dispersion component exhibited a slight increase if a film was dyed with an acid dye. The polar component increased if a Nylon-6 film was dyed with a tetrabasic direct dye or p-hydroxyazoic disperse dye.
The effect of a chemical structure of dyes and dyeing condition were also discussed.
