Abstract
The influence of energy given by the liquid flow on the efficiency of detergency has been studied in several washing methods.
The efficiency of detergency of the home laundering machine with a pulsator is constant irrespective of the velocity of the liquid flow and the laundering time, if the dynamic energy of the liquid flow calculated by the theoretical equation is constnat.
The electro-kinetic washing the Terg-O-Tometer washing and the repeated shearing stress washing have given similar result to the above conclusion, i. e., the efficiency of detergency estimated from other published studies is mainly determined by the dynamic energy of the liquid flow irrespective of the velocity of the liquid flow and the laundering time.
