Abstract
Formvar powder was dissolved in dichloroethan with the concentration of 6%. Then rouge powder (iron oxide) of 30%, was mixed with Formvar solution, which yielded the Red Paste. A sample was floated on the top of the Red Past, then it sank as the pores were filled with the Red Paste. When the Red Paste dried up, single-side-polished section or double-side-polished thin section of deposited snow was made, by polishing this plastic block of snow with fine grain sandpaper and soft silk cloth. One can measure the shapes, sizes and arrangements of deposited snow using the former. And crystallographic observation can be done using the latter with the polarized light and etch pits. The writer found 3 types of grain boundaries and expected other one.
