Abstract
Recent studies related to the climate change in the Nepal Himalayas and Tibetan Plateau were reviewed, and activities of meteorological observations in the Nepal Himalayas were introduced. According to Shrestha et al. (1999) and Liu and Chen (2000), warming trends of the surface temperature were evident in the regions, especially at the higher altitudes and in the winter season. Precipitation data did not show significant trends, but large year-to-year variation existed. Many observations by the automated meteorological station have been started in the Himalayas since 1990s, which have revealed the features of year-to-year variations of the mountain weather.
