In the construction material sector, aged buildings and structures are being renovated and a shortage of skilled workers is becoming further actualized. Therefore, there are greater needs for longer service life of social infrastructure and simpler construction. There is also demand for more superior environmentally friendly properties.
Given that background, a chromate-free treatment layer was developed to be suitable for an adhesive construction method using an adhesive agent. Aqueous emulsion dispersion resin was selected as the base layer, and the change in surface free energy was focused on in the design of the complex with the corrosion inhibitor. By controlling the cross-sectional structure to express the barrier effect of the base resin efficiently, we achieved adhesion, paint adhesion in a wet environment, and corrosion resistance.
