Abstract
When about 0.2% Al is added to molten zinc bath, the speed of Fe-Zn reaction is decreased and the life of a hot dip-plating kettle becomes 2 times longer than that in the case of pure zinc bath.
So that the relation between the liquidity and plated weight in various zinc bath compositions as well as that of corrosion resistance properties and bath compositions were investigated.
The result:
(1) Less than 0.2% Al addition does not deteriorate the liquidity of a bath and corrosion resistance property of dip-plated products.
(2) Lead does not affect much on the property of bath and product.
(3) Tin increases the brightness of plated products and is effective to get beautiful spangle.
(4) It is better to decrease iron content in molten zinc bath.
