Abstract
Study on the wear resistance of the electrodeposited Cr was carried out using Nishihara's wear testing machine.
When Cr deposit was combined with Cr deposit, the surfaces were without lubricant, scorched extremely. Employing water or oil as lubricant, however, the wear of the test pieces was found to be small, and the surface was smooth.
Wear resistances of the Cr deposits plated under various conditions or treated at various temperatures were measured to find out the relation between the wear resistance and the hardness of the Cr plate. It was found that the Cr deposit of heterogeneous structure had greater wear resistance irrespective to its hardness.
