Abstract
Current distribution in horizontal type anodizing cell containing sulfuric acid was examined by applying direct current. Relation between bath voltage (V) and the distance between electrodes (l) as shown in Fig. 1 was represented by V=a+bl.
The values of a and b were smaller at higher bath concentration.
In the system of 3 anodes shown in Fig. 2, current distribution was more uniform at smaller distance between electrodes, higher bath concentration, and lower anode current density.
Moreover, the effects of size and position of cathode were examined by using long anodes as shown in Fig. 3.
