Abstract
For the quantitative analysis of each component in the trivalent chromium plating solution the following simple and prompt procedures have been established. The amount of Cr (III) is determined by chelatometry with EDTA. HCOO is determined by the oxidation reduction titration with KMnO4 after removal of NH4 and Cr (III) by utilizing alkalis. Br and Cl are determined by the succesive potentiometric AgNO3 titration with AgNO3 using the halide electrode. Br, NH4 and H3BO3 are calibrated by using bromide, ammonia and fluoroborate electrode, respectively. But H3BO3 is determined after conversion to HBF4 with HF. According to these methods, six components, Cr(III), HCOO, Br, Cl, NH4 and H3BO3 in the trivalent chromium plating solution can be analysed within an hour.
