Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to make clear the mothers' child-rearing anxiety and relationships among mothers. The study is based on the results of a questionnaire and interviews done on mothers of kindergarteners. The major findings are as follows: (1) About 60% of mothers are troubled and are irritated with their children. They think that it is the repetition of the same thing every day. (2) With mothers of kindergarteners, they talked with people fewer than the majority, and there were many stories of the kindergarten and child-rearing. They praised each other's children, encouraged each other, and tended to listen to each other's cares and troubles. (3) Mothers' child-rearing anxieties are correlated with relationships among mothers. In other words, the lower a mothers' child-rearing anxiety, the more relationships she had with other mothers. (4) There were positive effects and negative effects in the relationships among mothers. There were three categories: effects for child-rearing, effects for children and effects for mothers in the positive effects.
