Abstract
The medical welfare system needs an efficient method for thedisposal of the excrement of bedridden, elderly patients. We tried to comprehend the development of the offensive odor of urine. This study examined the degree of offensive odor development in urine. In addition, it was intended to grasp the urinary actual situation. It was the sample to mix the urine of the student. We diluted the urine samples in 4 phases and measured odor concentration by using the triangle odor flask method.. Furthermore, we measured water quality by using the analyzer. Our observations were as follows: 1) The odor of urine changed throughout the day, and the first urine sample, which was collected in the morning, had the least offensive odor. 2) The chemical quality of urine changed with increase in temperature. 3) Offensive odor of the primitive urine have the high correlation between odor intensity and odor acceptability. The offensive odor of urine becomes unpleasant at a dilution of x50.
