An advanced sterilized environment is required in bio-cleanrooms for aseptic preparation. Until now, formaldehyde gas sterilization has been used for sterilizing a bio-cleanroom; however, owing to the residual problems associated with formaoldehyde, substitute sterilization methods are required. The fumigation system using ozone gas is a substitute sterilization method and has some advantages such as concentration control of ozone gas by its measument and easy decomposition of ozone gas to oxygen using a catalyst. In this study, the characteristics of ozone gas are examined and the sterilizing effect of ozone gas on floating fungus and adherent bacteria in bio-cleanrooms and the effectiveness of the fumigation system are analyzed.
