Owing to the global climate change, Japan frequently experiences droughts, Floods, and heavy snow. Therefore, we must change how to consider about the occurring frequency of the amount of rainfall said the once for several years. Rainwater drainage should also be planned to deal with the emergency of flood control and drought with respect to every building as well as water supply infrastructure. In addition, a decreasing tendency was observed in the water consumption in a building owing to the spreading of water conservation apparatus and a change in a lifestyle. Thus, the validity of the unit of designed water supply amount, which becomes a calculation basis with the water supply equipment design, also needs inspection. This research investigates the reality of the water consumption in a recently constructed building from measured data and estimates an environmental performance by using the unit of designed water supply amount and rainwater harvesting. In this paper, a relation between the trend of the unit of designed water supply amount, rainwater harvesting, and potable water replacement rate was analyzed based on actual result data of water use in an evaluation building. It was clarified that the most suitable size of rainwater tank differs with the differences in external factors such as precipitation characteristics.
