Abstract
We examined the intermittent and continuous operating method of household garbage disporsers on the fluidity of disposer drainage by weighting discharged garbage at uniform intervals and measuring total running time of firstly discharged garbage in the disposer drainage. The following are the objectives of this study. Compared to the continuous operating method, the intermittent operating method decreases the maximum solid concentration in the drainage, and increases the fluid velocity. The fluid velocity is strongly affected by the maximum solid concentration in the drainage, which is determined by the disposer operating method and water feed concentration.
