Abstract

We briefly report results of field and core observation of polymetallic W deposits in the Jiangnan porphyry W belt and Penshang Sn-Pb-Zn deposits in the middle to lower Yangtze River Belt during an excursion of SEG 2017 in Jiangxi Province, China. The W deposits including Shimensi, Yikuangdai, Shiweidong, Dalingshang and Yangchuling are typically characterized by W ± Cu ± Mo mineralization in quartz veins, quartz veinlets and /or greisen associated with Early Cretaceous porphyrytic granites intruding into Neoproterozoic metasedimentary and / or granitic rocks. Sheelite mineralization has been recently discovered and the deposits are being explored. The Penshang Sn-Pb-Zn deposits typically have stratiform ore bodies with skarn mineralization and the Sn mineralization is associated with the intrusion of Early Cretaceous Pengshan granite.
