Abstract

As the results of the geological surveys for several years, we recognized in 1954 that the ore deposits of the Hitachi mine are controlled by the folded structure (the Sasame folded structure). Since then, we started the exploration from this point of view for the unexplored area between the Hitachi main ore zone and the Irishiken ore zone. In 1956, the Fujimi ore bodies were discovered in that area, and are now under exploration by developing 7 ore bodies. It is noticeable that they lie in the limited rock facies.
