Abstract

Nickel sulfate, oxide and residual sulfide in roastig products of Ni3S2 were estimated and soluble nickel in roasted products by dilute sulfuric acid were determined. These results indicate the furnace temperature higher than 900°C and long time are needed to achieve a perfect oxidation of Ni3S2. Rate of dissolution of dead roasted products by dilute sulfuric acid is slower than that of oxides prepared at low temperatures. The decrease of NiSO4 in roasted products at about 700°C is attributed to the mutual reaction between Ni3S2 and NiSO4.
