Abstract

The crossing galleries are divided into some types as the horizontal, vertical and inclined crossings, In all these cases, it is necessary to take care of the roof supports, because the stress-concentration in this point is increased. Therefore the authers performed some three dimensionally photoelastic experiments by the stress freezing method in order to investigate the fundamental problemes of stress-concentration in the intersection point of crossing galleries.
In this paper, the authers report first of all on the relations between the intersectional angle and the concentrated stress in the horizontal crossing galleries from the results of these systematic experiments.
