Abstract

Recently, in the waste water treatment both inorganic and organic flocculants are used at the same time, and some method is called upon to evaluate their effects in relation with two important needs, that is, satisfied concentration of suspended solid in supernatant water and required settling velocity.
In the present paper, the authors introduce an evaluation method by the use of the graph which consists of both critical suspended solid concentration curve (CSSC) and critical settling velocity curve (CVC).
In this method, suitable combination of both reagents and their amounts and optimum range of reagent conditions canbe easily detected.
