The evaluation of the surface wettability has been researched from static situation by the contact angle measurement, which bases on Young's equation. Surfaces with a water contact angle greater than 150° (i.e. superhydrophobic surfaces) are currently a subject of great interest and intensive study. This paper reviews the reduction of fluid-flow resistance using the superhydrophobic coating. The latest findings, which are physical model of a sliding water droplet, movement of water droplet in the electric field and retention of air layer in flowing water, are caught quantitatively and visually.
