Abstract

The relationship between the dynamic viscoelasticity and the inter-roll transference of polyester paints for coil-coating was studied. The evaluation of the applicability was carried out using a reverse roll-coater for the paints reduced to an equal viscosity suitable for conventional application. The dynamic modulus G′ and the loss modulus G″ for each of the paints were measured against the angular frequencies to correlate the inter-roll transference. It was found that G′ value was important factor especially in the frequency region (200/sec or lower), i.e., the applicability of paints in rollcoating improved in parallel with the increase of G′ value.
