For the development of coatings for softwood, reflection characteristics, pencil scratch resistance, and thermal characteristics of new coatings coated on softwood were examined. A polybutadiene clear coating containing 30vol% of polyurethane particles coated on softwood showed similar reflective distribution, thermal conductivity, and thermal diffusibility to uncoated softwood, with improved scratch resistance.
From those results, we were able to develop a coating that protects the surface of softwood and retains the natural beauty and original texture of the inherent softwood.
