Abstract
We dyed Wool with Vegetable Dyes and then examined it in Extracted Dyes for Colour Fastness. In these experiments the dyes used were, Chlorophora tinctoria ; Haematoxylon capmpchianum L. and Caesalpinia Sappan L. The mordants used were aluminum acetate ; chromium acetate and pyrolignite of iron. ln this study we will report on "Colour Fastness" in relation to five points ; Washing ; Rubbing ; Perspiration ; Light and Heat. The results obtained are as follows : 1) Extracted Dyes have a better effect on wool than on silk and cotton fabrics respectively. 2) Colour Fastness of dyes is in the order of Chlorophora tinctoria ; Haematoxylon capmpchianum L. and Caesalpinia Sappan L. 3)Colour Fastness according to fabrics is in the order of wool dyeing ; silk dyeing and cotton dyeing.
