Considerations regarding a concept of driving assistance system

Abstract

This paper reviews the current status of the development of Japanese ITS then it also reviews various issues of developing driving assistance system. Finally the author strongly appeals the cooperation between the social scientists and natural scientists to make a new concept of driving assistance system after the discussion regarding the data of the rate of traffic accidents of vehicles equipped with automatic transmission and manual transmission, respectively.
