Abstract
In this paper, a method for the minute displacements measurement in the MRI environments, which will be a key technique in the development of MR compatible force sensors is proposed. It employs photo-detecting techniques and multi-core optical fibers to extend the light path between the photo elements. The results of the evaluation conducted with an optical system having 10 [m] fibers and a normalized differential amplifier show that the accuracy of the measurements against 2 dimensional minute displacements is about 0.5 [%], which is considered to be sufficient for force sensing.
