Abstract
In using U-tube Type Differential Pressure Detector, we have long been troubled for over flow of the mercury in the U-tube and incorrect indication caused by a sudden variation of the differential pressure. It took the writers lots of time to resupply mercury in the U-tube and to adjust O-point.
To avoid the above-said difficulty, we have newly made the separator which prevents the mercury from over flowing. This separator as shown in Fig. 2 is very simple in structure and can be easily fixed to the low pressure pipe of the U-tube Type Detector. As a result of using this separator, it was proved that the flow meter keeps on accurate and correct recording even after a sudden variation of the differential pressure. As a merit of the separator, it is pointed out that having almost no restriction, it can operate very effectively. This paper describes the structure, function and effect of this separator.
