Dynamic Behavior of an Automatic Curve Tracer

Abstract

In this paper, an automatic curve tracer, using a light spot and a photo-tube, is discussed.
The behavior of the tracer is fully analized for a part of curve where the tracing head passes from a straight line to a circle, since practically, the majority of the curves determining the shape of the plate to be cut are composed of straight lines and circles.
The analysis can be easily applied to the reversed case, i. e., the tracing head passes from a circle to a straight line.
