Stability of High-Temperature Platinum Resistance Thermometers above 962-degree Celsius up to 1200-degree Celsius

Abstract

The present status of new types of HTPRTs, platinum sheath type and alumina sheath type, is reported. The result indicate that the platinum sheath type are stable up to 1170°C. The alumina sheath type also showed a good long-term stability at 1100°C and 1170°C. The result indicates that the HTPRTs developed in this investigation are applicable at temperatures above 962°C up to 1170°C.
