Abstract
Making rational policy decisions for complex problems typically requires model-based support for comprehensive analyses of relations between decisions and various measures of consequences resulting their implementations. The paper summarizes the lessons from applications of advanced modeling techniques to complex environmental problems, and outlines the Structured Modeling Technology, which has been developed for model-based decision-making support for such problems.
