Abstract
A statistical analysis of 158 cases of squamous cell carcinoma treated at the Department of Dermatologic Oncology, National Cancer Center Hospital, during the past 7 years (2006-2012) is reported. The patients comprised 104 men and 54 woman with a sex ratio of 1.9 : 1. The incidence tended to increase in those over 60 years of age, and the face was followed by the hand. Pre-cancerous lesions were documented in 77 cases, including 27 actinic keratosis, 27 Bowen's disease and 15 burn scars. The five-year survival rates in terms of TNM classification were as follows : stage 0,100% ; stage I,100% ; stage II, 81.5% ; stage III, 57.6% ; stage IV, 0%.[Skin Cancer (Japan) 2013 ; 28 : 154-159]
