Abstract
We report a case of an 81-year-old man with a slowly enlarging pedunculated mulberrytumor on the left scrotum, around which erythematous lesions were noticed. A skin biopsy specimen was taken from the mulberry tumor and the erythematous lesion. The mulberry tumor had numerous foam cells in the papillary dermis and the erythematous lesion had Paget's cells in the epidermis, so the lesion was diagnosed as Paget's disease with verruciform xanthomaof the scrotum. A resection with a 10 mm surgical margin from the erythema was performed. A pathological finding of the resection specimen showed Paget's cells did not extend to the tumor itself. There have been two other cases reported about Paget's disease with verruciform xanthomaof the external genitalia in the literature. We report our rare case and review the relationship between Paget's disease of the external genitalia with verruciform xanthoma and the human papilloma virus.[Skin Cancer (Japan) 2014 ; 29 : 270-274]
