Abstract
Erythematous macules developed on the whole body surface of a male in his forties together with oral mucosal erosions and conjunctival injection after taking Pabron® S Gold. A histopathological examination of the skin lesions showed liquefaction degeneration, apoptotic keratinocytes, and subepidermal bullae. The eruptions were improved with steroid pulse therapy. Patch testing and a drug-induced lymphocyte stimulation test produced positive results for Pabron® S Gold and dihydrocodeine phosphate. Based on these results, we diagnosed the patient with Stevens-Johnson syndrome caused by dihydrocodeine phosphate, one of the constituents of Pabron® S Gold.Skin Research, 15: 125-129, 2016
