Abstract
A 52-year-old man had exhibited multiple nodules on his right leg since childhood. The skin lesions gradually enlarged and increased in number, and were accompanied with uncontrollable pain. At age 41, he was diagnosed with multiple cutaneous leiomyoma by histological examination at another hospital. The nodules of the right thigh and the right lower leg were excised under general anesthesia, and reconstructed with mesh skin grafting. After the surgery, the pain was controlled with oral nifedipine, although the pain from the remaining nodule could not be relieved with nifedipine. We removed nodules of the right thigh under general anesthesia. This time, we used a split-thickness skin graft as well as flap from where the leiomyomas were removed on the dermal side. Multiple cutaneous leiomyoma is a rare condition that is difficult to treat because multiple nodules develop in a wide area with characteristic pain.Skin Research, 16: 205-209, 2017
