Abstract
In order to confirm the effective dose and clinical effect of coix seed extract powder against molluscum contagiosum, 3 doses of coix extract powder consisting of 4 g/day, 6 g/day and 12 g/day were dispensed to 13 cases with molluscum contagiosum.
In the dose of 4 g/day, the effective rate including both remarkable and moderate effectiveness was 25. 0%(moderate effectiveness: 1 case in total 4 cases). In the dose of 6 g/day, the effective rate was 44. 4%(remarkable effectiveness: 2 cases, moderate effectiveness: 2 cases in total 9 cases).
No side effects were observed in any cases.
The dose of 12 g/day was not applied for the reason that all cases were 8-year-old and under.
It was concluded that coix seed extract powder was usefull on molluscum contagiosum and the dose of 6 g/day in 8-year-old and under was suitable.
