Abstract
A clinical evaluation of azelastine hydrochloride (Azeptin®) on total of 301 cases of urticaria, eczema-dermatitis, pruritus cutaneus and prurigo was made in open trial. At the same time, the effectiveness and safety of once-daily administration of 2 mg azeptin hydrochloride was compared with twice-daily administration of 2 mg/day. The final evaluation of improvement indicated the effectiveness of azelastine hydrochloride in 89.4% of the cases, and confirmed the results of previous studies. No statistical difference was observed between the once-daily group and twice-daily group in the effectiveness and safety of the drug. It was concluded that the once-daily administration of 2 mg azelastine hydrochloride is an effective and safe treatment.
