Abstract
The efficacy and safety of aciclovir granules were evaluated in 19 patients with herpes zoster and 28 patients with cutaneous herpes simplex virus infections (herpes simplex). The efficacy rates for aciclovir granules in herpes zoster and herpes simplex were 84.2%(16/19) and 92.9%(26/28) respectively. As for adverse reactions, stomach discomfort and glossitis were reported in two cases.
Clinical laboratory abnormalities were seen in 11 cases. None of them were clinically significant.
These results show that aciclovir granules are useful in the treatment of herpes zoster and cutaneous herpes simplex virus infections.
